Question 1

What is llms.txt?

Accepted Answer

llms.txt is a proposed standard: a plain Markdown file at the root of your site that summarizes who you are and links to your most important pages. It gives AI assistants a clean, curated overview instead of making them piece one together from your HTML.

Question 2

Where do I put the file?

Accepted Answer

Publish it at the root of your domain, so it loads at yourwebsite.com/llms.txt - the same place robots.txt lives. Most hosts and CMSs let you upload a static file there.

Question 3

How is the file generated?

Accepted Answer

We read your sitemap and homepage, group your pages into sections and write a short description for each, in the llms.txt format. Review it before publishing - you know your site best.

Question 4

Is llms.txt the same as robots.txt?

Accepted Answer

No. robots.txt controls which bots may crawl your site. llms.txt doesn't block or allow anything - it's a guide to your content for AI systems that do read it.
